Early on my Ph.D. journey, I grappled with the challenges facing higher education in the digital age, particularly the rise of online learning platforms. However, my perspective shifted dramatically during a pedagogy seminar taught by Dr. Tripp. This course instilled in me a renewed passion for teaching, emphasizing the impact that I can have on my students’ learning, and the fact that I can “make a difference”. In my view, a good teacher serves as a role model, drawing upon their expertise to inspire students. Moreover, an impactful teacher cultivates an open and inviting classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their thoughts and approaching their teacher for guidance and help.
